Philips announces 2024 Ambilight TV range, featuring new OLED+, Premium OLED, Mini-LED and DLED models

Highlights include: Ambilight Plus, a new P5 AI Dual Engine processor, the 8th Generation P5 AI and META Technology 2.0 plus Sound by Bowers & Wilkins.

OLED+959 – A true flagship

The new the OLED+959 is the flagship of the 2024 Ambilight TV range and remains the definitive, market leading premium TV thanks to the new, powerful twin chip version of the P5 AI processor combined with META Technology 2.0, the new Ambilight Plus system and an integrated Bowers & Wilkins TV 5.1.2 sound system.

The stunning images displayed by the OLED+959 are a result of the unique combination of the additional power of the 8th Generation P5 AI Dual Engine processor, improvements made to the META 2.0 OLED panel, new META Multi Booster algorithms allowing for peak brightness to reach up to 3000 Nits – a new high for OLED technology - and the new Ambilight Plus system - a sophisticated Next Generation version of Ambilight.

A new Game Bar is designed to allow gamers to quickly customise, enhance and monitor the gaming experience and its further enhanced thanks to the inclusion of the MEMC feature and 144Hz VRR including for Dolby Vision Gaming.

Naturally, as the flagship of the range, the OLED+959 also offers market leading TV sound quality thanks to a new Bowers & Wilkins 5.1.2 integrated sound system all discreetly housed within the set’s slimline silhouette.

Available in one screen size of 65”, the OLED+959 has the option of wall mounting or alternatively floor standing via its minimalist, mid-slate grey metal stand.

OLED+909 – Exceptional performance, more discrete design

Continuing the popular OLED+ trend of offering very high specification picture and sound technology, all carefully integrated into the TV to ensure a minimalist design no bigger than a conventional set, the OLED+909 offers exceptional picture and audio performance.

The OLED+909 combines the latest 8th Gen P5 AI processing, with the new Ambient Intelligence V3 feature that now optimizes HDR settings, a META 2.0 OLED panel and META Multi Booster algorithm plus - the new Game Bar, MEMC gaming and 144Hz VRR and a Bowers & Wilkins 3.1 sound system – featuring newly designed slimmer 30 x 50mm drivers to offer a more discreet profile without compromising on audio performance.

The OLED+909 has a minimalist, metal frame bezel with the frontal sound system integrated along the bottom of the screen and covered in Kvadrat Audiomix cloth. Available in 55”, 65” and 77” screen sizes the OLED+909 also includes a four-sided version of the Ambilight system to enrich the users viewing experience.

OLED809 – The highest performance from mid-range OLED TVs

The Philips OLED 800 Series has consistently proven to be one of the most popular OLED ranges thanks to its combination of Ambilight with premium PQ and audio performance in a minimalist design, ultra-slim mid-range OLED set.

Available in 42”, 48”, 55”, 65” and 77” screen sizes the new OLED809 continues to set the sector performance standard by combining the new 8th Gen P5 AI processor with new higher output OLED_EX panels – offering a peak light output of 1300 Nits – and a three-sided version of immersive Ambilight technology.

The 8th Generation P5 AI features the new Ambient Intelligence V3 feature that now optimises HDR settings to the ambient light level and maintains an excellent HDR performance even in bright viewing conditions.

Gaming is also enhanced thanks to the inclusion of the new Game Bar, MEMC gaming and 144Hz VRR including Dolby Vision Gaming.

Excellent sound quality continues to be a highlight of the range thanks to an integrated 70W 2.1 sound system – 50W for the 42” – with a more accurate digital crossover precisely controlling the distribution to the two-way left and right speakers, plus a dedicated triple ring, rear facing bass driver – supported by four passive radiators.

PML9009 – An Xtra Mini-LED

Having successfully launched ‘The Xtra’ series in 2023, TP Vision continues to develop Mini-LED options in its range with the launch of the new PML9009 – which continues the Mini-LED option of offering excellent performance and outstanding value with product performance quality sitting just below the OLED models, but above the premium LED sets.

The PML9009 will be offered in 55” 65” & 75” screen sizes and as the first Philips Mini-LED TV available as an 85” model.

The PM9009 offers an excellent performance thanks to the inclusion of the latest P5 processor combined with a top quality, 144Hz 98% DCI WCG panel – producing an impressive 1000 Nits peak light output.

Uniquely immersive TV viewing is delivered via the three-sided version of the Ambilight system, while viewers can also enjoy the improved, faster and more intuitive experience of the new Titan OS Smart TV platform.

PUS8909 – ‘The One’ everyone’s happy to choose

The One’ Performance Series has proven to be hugely popular with consumers who have readily bought into the simple concept of a product designed to give them a TV offering everything they could need – with the performance and key features of a high-end TV but at a competitive mid-range price.

The concept continues in 2024 with the new PUS8909 model available in 43” 50”, 55, 65” and 75” screen sizes offering excellent TV picture quality thanks to the combination of the latest P5 processor with a high quality, 144Hz WCG LCD panel.

The 8909 features a minimal anthracite grey metal bezel with a brushed effect to the lower edge of the screen with the swivel delta stand also finished in anthracite grey, with twin anthracite grey turned metal ‘pill’ feet for the 75” model.

The truly immersive viewing experience is completed by the inclusion of a three-sided version of the Ambilight system.

Ambilight plus can create a more dynamic, larger overall halo with more resolution and can project up to four different halos at different depths to add a new two-dimensional impact to the overall immersive effect.
